Cane Hill was a psychiatric hospital in Coulsdon . It was build to help with the growing number of patients around the area which were unable to get into the Springfield and Brookwood asylums.

It held around 2000 patients, closing in 1991, with the secure unit later closing in 2008

The hospital's motto was Aversos Compono Animos, which apparently translates into 'I bring relief to troubled minds'

Did a mass group visit to this place after hearing about the demolition team moving in the day after our arranged visit. Was a fantastic trip and surprising that non of us got caught.

We heard the security dog barking every so often but we kept our wits about us and got to saw quite a bit of the place.

I have put the patient art in a seperate section as this needs recognition. Most of the artwork has now been destroyed by the demolition teams which is sad, as i would have liked to have documented more.
